SF Dump (Transfer Station)

San Francisco's transfer station, also known as "the dump", is the local hub for resource recovery and sanitary disposal activities in the city. Here you can drop off your discards, and visit the Environmental Learning Center. The transfer station is a registered construction and demolition debris recycling facility and also home to the Artist in Residence Program.

The Public Disposal an Recycling Area is open to the general public during regular business hours.

Minimum disposal fee of $28.00 per load applies to all loads.-->
General Refuse: $151.47 Per Ton  Site minimum of $28 per load
Concrete: $151.47 Per Ton  Site minimum of $28 per load
Certified Destruction: $161.47 Per Ton  Site minimum of $28 per load

FREE, up to 5 gallons per month
More than 5 gallons: $1.00 per pound
Fluorescent Tubes, Lamps, CFLS FREE, up to 30 per month.
More than 30 tubes/lamps: $4.00 per unit
TV's, All Sizes No charge
Computer Monitors, All Sizes No charge
Laptop Computers, other LCD devices No charge
Commercial Equipment & Devices* $60.00 Each
Any Non-California Origin Item Varies by Item between $14.00 to $69.00 Each

 

emblem-importantNote: Separate loads consisting of only non-commercial, California origin CRT, Plasma, or LCD display devices may be recycled at no charge. Non-commercial, California origin CRT's, Plasma, and LCD display devices mixed with other types of solid waste being offered for disposal will be charged at the regular disposal rate of $151.47 per ton.

*Commercial Equipment & Devices refer to any industrial equipment or device such as electrical, automotive or medical diagnostic equipment, and arcade or casino style games containing CRT's, Plasma, or LCD displays.

Unwanted electronics, fluorescent tubes, consumer batteries and mercury thermostats (also known as Universal Wastes) are prohibited from trash and recycle collection bins.

Passenger or Light Truck Tire - No Rim $10.00 Each as surcharge plus weight of the load
